APPENDIX N

I was a late bloomer to tabletop RPG's, and D&D in general. I only started to get really involved in DMing in 2015, after discovering the OSR/DIY community and reaping the wealth of knowledge contained therein. Since then, I've written a few (unpublished, amateur, unprofitable) systems/hacks myself, which led me to pick up the original AD&D Players Handbook for inspiration. There, I found the infamous Appendix N.

I knew what had to be done. I'm a voracious reader, like Gygax himself; so what better way to explore the origins of the game than by reading the stuff that inspired it? I'll be using a modified version of Martin Ralya's 100-Book Appendix N Reading List, updating whenever I finish writing my review of the most recent read. In keeping with the spirit of things, I'll also be buying pre-1979, first-edition (whenever possible), print versions of these books, so I should have a pretty cool collection by the time I'm done.
